Wholesome-NI now offering local food deliveries across Northern Ireland

Updated: Apr 18

With normality slowly returning and now that we are starting to get a stretch in the evenings and some better weather, are you planning on having some friends round and not sure of the perfect food?

Wholesome-NI must admit food shopping can be hard!

But not to worry we’ve decided to take the pressure off you and have created our weekly local food deliveries.

We’ve started with our Broighter Gold range.

Rapeseed oil is known and loved for its delicate, mild flavour and is an extremely versatile ingredient, deferring modestly to allow other flavours to shine through rather than overpowering the whole dish in the way that other oils are often guilty of doing.

This virgin cold pressed Broighter gold oil is one of the healthiest and most versatile oils for cooking with. It works well at high temperatures as well as being excellent for making dressings, baking, and everyday use.

Want to add a little kick and a bit more excitement to your food, try the infused with chilli rapeseed oil on your salad. If you like Italian food, it goes great drizzled over a pizza or for spicing up a pasta sauce.

It is grown and harvested on a family farm (Broglasco Farm), Limavady, Northern Ireland.

Award winning grower and producer Broighter gold is today one of Ireland's and the UK's best known rapeseed oil suppliers, with premium quality rapeseed oils sold in stores and used in top restaurants and hotels all over Ireland.

Have you ever tried Burren Balsamics?

Fantastic balsamic vinegar infused range from the award-winning Burren balsamics of County Down. Choose from black garlic, roast onion, chilli & honey, blackberry & thyme, Armagh bramley apple and vinegar of Modena.

Balsamic vinegar is delicious drizzled over salads, of course. But try it in cooked dishes, too. Balsamic vinegar holds onto its spicy kick, balancing the rich flavours of meat, poultry, and fish, and adding welcome acidity to vegetables.

Make sure and try balsamic vinegar with Parmigiano Reggiano cheese, or even with our Dart Mountain Tirkeeran cheese. It also goes very well Broighter Gold rapeseed oil to make a superb dip for bread.

Use it to make a beautiful summer tomato salad with fresh mozzarella, basil leaves, and a generous drizzle of balsamic vinegar and honey reduction.
